Creativity and Innovation

From creativity does innovation arise?

Previously I had already talked a little about creativity, but if you do not remember it, creativity is the ability we have to be able to think of new methods / possibilities to be able to invent or create something new or improve something, they can be objects, ideas, representations, etc. So if we think this about creativity, can we say that innovation comes from creativity? Well, how many times we have not wanted to create something new but we always find that it has already been created ?, or that we realize that there are several similar articles but one is more successful than another? well, there is a big difference between creativity and innovation.
Creativity is thinking of new and appropriate ideas, while innovation is the successful application of ideas within an organization. In other words, creativity is the concept and innovation is the process.

Creativity and innovation

Let's determine more about the differences between these two concepts. According to the RAE, innovation is the creation or modification of a product, and its introduction into a market, while creativity is the ability to create, therefore what differs between these two concepts is the approach we give it, creativity puts us to fund the purpose of unlocking our potential from our mind to make known the different methods for the realization of something. It is subjective.

Innovation on the other hand is measurable. It's about changing stable systems. It focuses on having viable ideas. All this arises since we want to satisfy some need, therefore creativity can be used to bring some innovation to our lives.

Clearly all this is not easy, today there are so many things created or applied that it is very difficult to create or apply something that has not already been created by other people, but do not worry, there is everything has its moment and the only thing that one you must do is have the line of separation between creativity and innovation well marked in order to make correct use of each one, in the same way there are several ways to promote creativity and innovation, such as the following:

Ways to encourage or stimulate creativity

  • Propose challenges
  • To motivate
  • Encourage active participation
  • Give greater autonomy
  • Generate variety, avoiding stagnation.

Ways to practice innovation:

  • Foster creativity (which is what generates ideas to innovate)
  • Eradicate the fear of failure
  • Be attentive to market changes
  • Launch new products, services or process changes.

Activity Theory

Activity Theory In this case, we will talk a little more about the resources that we will use to manage a project that we want to use, be it a product that we want to sell or a change proposal. Activity theory is a tool that helps us collect information at home aspect of our project, it is more a meta-theory than a predictive theory. This considers the entire work / activity system (including teams, organizations, etc.), in other words it does not focus only on the person, but also on your own team and the environment that is managed. I like to think of this tool as something more realistic for our project since I feel that it is more complete because it takes ourselves into account. The activity theory is represented by a triangle which contains the following: This triangle can be managed on 3 levels: Activity towards a goal (goal) carried out by a community. A result of a reason (need) that may not be aware of the social and personal meaning of the activity (Answer the quest...

It is dedicated to all topics related to cognitive skills and creativity, therefore I will try to talk about each of them in detail but, first of all, let's talk in general about, What are Cognitive Skills? What is Creativity? Cognitive Skills It is very simple to understand what it is, therefore, cognitive skills are all those where the human being processes the information and "how" it processes, that is, memory use, attention, perception and CREATIVITY Creativity Creativity is the ability that we have to be able to think of new methods / possibilities to be able to invent or create something either new or improve something, they can be objects, ideas, representations, etc. So, as we can say that cognitive skills and creativity are one, I like to see it as follows, there is a large box called cognitive skills and inside that box there is another box called creativity, and inside that box there are m...
